Frequently Asked Questions

How many animals have you rescued?

In 2024 we rescued approximately 544 dogs and 8 cats. In 2023, we rescued 388 dogs, 28 cats and 1 bunny.  While these are numbers we have “rescued” we have helped save 1,300+  animals through networking and assisting community members.

I’m interested in fostering. What does that look like?

When you foster a dog through our network, it’s a temporary commitment—typically lasting from a few weeks to a few months. As a foster, you play a vital role in helping us get to know the animal’s personality, which allows our rescue partners to find the best possible forever home. Successful foster families help with potty training, provide a safe indoor environment, and offer opportunities for socialization—helping the animal learn how to be part of a loving home with both humans and other pets. Leash training is a plus, but not required.

We cover all veterinary care and can also provide food and bedding if needed.

I want to help, but I’m not sure I want to foster. What else can I do?

There are plenty of other ways to help if you can’t foster! We are always looking for volunteers to help with fundraising events and promotion. We need drivers to transport our animals to and from vet appointments as well as to pick-up points for transfers to our northern rescues.

We are always in need of financial donations and donated items for our animals while in foster care.

You can even simply share our social media posts on your personal social media. You never know who you could potentially connect Roadside Rescue Network with.
